MZ-R55 Details
This model is ONLY released in Japan. It is highly unlikely it will be released in
other countries before next year.
Key features of the NEW MZ-R55
- Weight: 147 grams Size: 78.9mm X 18.9mm X 84 mm
- With 1.2 volt Gum type rechargable battery and 2 attached AA batteries: 16
hours/playback and 9.5 hours recording.
- With 1.2 volt Gum type rechargable battery: 4 hours/play 2.5 hours recording.
- 40 seconds of shock protection.
- ATRAC recording wiith, 20-20,000 mhz frquency response.
- Editing remote control with 9 character display.
- Initial monthly production 70,000 uniits.
- Comes in Vintage Gold, Silence Blue and Illumination Yellow
- Automatic and manual recording level control
- English and Japanese Kana title entry.
- Mono mode, records twice the amount of time - 148 minutes for a 74 minute disc.
This is the Japanese domestic market recorder. It is not
yet available outside Japan.

To be fair to the MZ-R50, it has:
